SOY CUTLET

This recipe is also my experiment. This soy granules was lying in my pantry closet , then I thought of using it. I added some vegetables , but the cutlets are so soft , it didn't turned out crisp.

Ingredients

Soy granules – 1 cup
Onion – 1
Carrot – 1
Boiled Potato – 1
Chili powder – 1 tbsp
Garam masala – ½ tbsp
Bread crumps - as requried
Salt to taste
Oil

Method

1. Soak soy granules in warm water for 2 to 3 minutes and squeeze the granules and keep aside.
2. Grate the carrot, mash the potato, finely chop the onions.
3. Combine the vegetables , soy granules, chili powder, salt and gram masala and make a dough.

4. Make desired shapes , roll it in bread crumbs and shallow fry in tawa.
5. Serve with tomato sauce or chili garlic sauce.

My cutlets were so soft, it did n’t turn out crisp as store bought. Friends, if somebody can suggest me how I can make this cutlet crisp, I can follow next time.

vidya nice trial. and healthy also.

They look good in the pic and there are many recipes in the net for soya cutlets. What if you grind the granules and then combine? You could probably coat it with rava or bread crumbs as that is what gives the crispness in cutlets.
(My bit of suggestion)

Vidhas, it is possible that the water in the soy granules makes these soft. Next time, you might try substituting some of the soy for some chickpea flour or even ground-up beans (kinda like felafel). Anyway, your cutlets still look delicious.
