POTATO BONDA


This is my husbands favourite dish. But i wont make often because it is deep fried. He was pulling my leg asking "Do you forgot to make bondas". I thought let me make for him since the climate is also cool and rainy in Chennai. My mom in law's friends also came unexpectedly they also liked this.


Ingredients

I Masala

Potato – 4
Onion – 1
Peas – ½ cup
Green chili – 2
Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
Curry leaves - few
Mustard seeds – ¼ tbsp
Turmeric powder – a generous pinch
Salt to taste
II For the batter

Besan (Gram flour) – 1 cup
Rice flour – 2 tbsp
Red chili powder – 1 tbsp
salt to taste
oil for frying

Method
1. Boil and peel the potatoes and mash it. Chop onions and green chili
2. In a pan heat oil and pop up mustard seeds
3. Add chopped onions,green chili and curry leaves.
4. Add turmeric powder and peas to that and saute well.
5. Add salt and mashed potatoes and mix well and leave for some time.
6. Remove from flame and add lemon juice and mix well.
Your masala is ready
7. In a bowl add gram flour, rice flour, red chili powder, salt and add water to make a
Batter.
8. Make small balls out of the potato masala and dip in the batter and deep fry it.
You can serve with sauce or some green chutney.(Recipe given with rava Idly)

yummy ,i too will not do becoz it is deepfried.My cousin s wife add a few mint leaves to it.It was so great.Yours look tempting.
